View of the Death in Battle by Suicide of Katsuyori at Mount Temmoku. (Katsuyori ni oite Temmokuzan toguru uchijini zu). Grim scene of the losing side of a battle, with the remaining troops finishing the enemy’s job. Katsuyori sits far right, holding his knife in the way that is used for seppoku, also watching over his men as they the kill themselves. Far left we see a man who has committed suicide and then was decapitated by a friend. Perhaps the two men holding swords who are full dressed are the ones how get this honor. The flags and spears of enemy troops may be seen in a line in the grasses in the distance.
