Warriors 武者絵

Warriors (musha-e) are a type of ukiyo-e popularized by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861) beginning in the 1820s. His "Heroes of the Suikoden" burst him into the scene, and many more series followed. Tales of the Minamoto fighting the Taira clan in the Tales of the Heike were also extremely popular.
