The Bodhisattva Kannon is seated on a rocky promontory, looking at the sea with the intention to free all beings from the turbulent ocean of samsara. Kannon is considered a manifestation of Avolokiteshvara, Buddha of Compassion. Her halo is beautifully integrated into the design and even overlaps the title cartouche. Beside her sits a vase with a willow branch, two objects associated with this representation of the goddess.
Condition: Excellent impression and color: very good condition. Backed.
