Scene from the “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” (Sangokushi zue no uchi). Chang Fei on Chôhan Bridge glaring back at the multitude of soldiers. A tour de force, exemplifying Yoshitoshi’s mastery of draftsmanship. One of the finest Meiji period ukiyo-e drawings in private hands. The final drawing must have been made from this draft, and it is also rare to have the print that matches together with the drawing (see YOT366)
