Yoshitoshi 芳年: Endo Musha Morito Creeping on Kesa Gozen (Sold)

The villain Endo Musha Morito approaches Kesa Gozen’s bedchamber, sword unsheathed and ready to commit a terrible crime. His sleeves are tied back and he has a creeping, creepy aspect about him. He has come to presumably murder the husband of Kesa Gozen, the woman who had become the unwanted object of his affection. Kesa Gozen cuts off her hair and takes her husband’s place in their bedchamber, thereby saving her honor and sacrificing herself, as Endo Morita does indeed unintentionally take her life.
