The young Butsu Sorai (1666-1728) holds a book and a stern expression, turning away from the rake on his back and the ox by his side. He is probably teaching the young girl next to him, as he goes on to become a famous Confucian scholar, self-taught because his father is in exile. Numbered 39 at bottom.
