Two humorous scenes regarding the Sino-Japanese war. Above are two anthropomorphic ships standing on their hands and doffing caps with their feet in the manner of acrobats. Seated on the ground are two Japanese naval men, one an officer. Below we see three Chinese in traditional garb walking away from an aged scholar who looks very bereft. Perhaps they’ve taken the robe off of his back?
