Commander of the Second Army, Army General Oyama Iwao seems to refuse a bowl of rice and drink, as proffered by a kneeling Japanese man. We see that conditions are difficult and it is very cold, but his expression is undaunted. General Oyama was one of the founders of the Imperial Japanese Army.
