Kawasaki gekkai. Sail ships at anchor fire a salute with cannons, their reflections beautifully depicted against a calm sea. The moon shows itself as a yellow glow that emanates from behind a cloud. The view is peaceful, yet with an underlying warning of menace. A superb and rare design that combines the best of what Kiyochika was famous for.

Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Minor stain in dark area of sky.
