Night at Toshogu Shrine, Ueno (Ueno toshogu no yoru). One approaching pedestrian bears a glowing yellow light as he approaches the entrance to Toshogu Shrine, the lights of the city a soft glow behind him. The other yellow lights are perhaps fireflies. The scene seems to mimic a black-and-white photograph. The work also manages to convey atmosphere and depth using a minimum of colors and blocks. Very rare design. The only museum examples seem to be the British Museum and LACMA.
