Kuzunoha, her hands (now pawlike) obscured by her sleeves and holding a towel in her mouth (making it more foxlike), peers over a screen at her sleeping son. Her shadow on the screen betrays her true identity as a fox-woman. Once her identity as a fox-woman is discovered, she must leave her family and go to live again as a fox in the Shinoda forest.
