“Three Countries’ Ken” (Sangoku ken). The actors Nakamura Utaemon IV, Ichimura Uzaemon XII and Seki Sanjuro II in a ken performance, gesticulating with their arms and hands. Above are instructions illustrating the dance moves. Ken was often played as a drinking game and was incorporated into several kabuki plays as a dance. Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Trimming a top and minor wormage near bottom.
