The Daughter of Dainagon Yukinari--she painted a butterfly so lifelike that her cat grabbed it. Here she looks relaxed and bemused as the cat scatters her painting tools and attacks the butterfly painting. Kuniyoshi’s love of cats is well documented--they apparently had the run of his studio.
