Two Kabuki characters are paired up against a dramatically textured wooden board. The kabuki characters Hidetoshi of Washizu Shichirô (right) and Princess Wakana, attendant to Ôtomo, (left) (Tamashizu no Shichirô Hidetoshi; Ôtomo no sokume Wakana-hime). Beautifully printed, with a unique technique employed to bring out the natural woodgrain of the wood, above, and areas of blindprinting on the white collar and folded papers. The fugitive purple color is perfectly preserved.
Condition: Excellent impression and color. Very good condition. Binding holes and small area of wormage.Dimensions: ôban (36.6 x 25.6 cm)
