Tokiyori, The Saimyôji monk (Saimyôji toki yori nyûdô). We see an actor as Saimyöji, who is dressed for travel and holds what looks like a traveling hat. Behind him are beautiful abstract decorations. Hôjô Tokiyori was an important figure during the Kamakura era, who became a monk and passed his political position on to his successor. He then often traveled around the country checking up on the conditions of the populace, a custom well known from Chinese lore.
