Koson 小原古邨: Egrets in the Snow 雪に白鷺 (SOLD)

Five egrets strike five different poses, all of them elegant. They are grouped together in the shallows, waiting for a snowstorm to pass. There is white blindprinting in the feathers. This Watanabe seal was used between 1932 and 1941; there is a Made in Japan stamp verso, which was used in the 1920s and early 1930s, so this work must have been printed in the early 1930s. This is an earlier printing than the example in the collection of the MFA.

Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition.
