Two egrets seem unfazed by white rain falling against a black sky. Nearby are grasses and flowers to offer colorful contrast. From the estate of Robert O. Muller, whose collection now resides in the Smithsonian. The “made in Japan” seal was affixed no later than the 1930s to prints bound for export.
