The actor Ishikawa Kyo-zo as Okabe Tokuyata. This work is by a student of Kunichika, who designed most of the other prints in this series. The actor holds what looks like a teacup, a pattern of bold calligraphy behind that is perhaps an advertisement for sake. The mirror features mica atop a blue pigment. Although this actor appears to be “backstage”, he wears full makeup and strikes a facial pose.
