Two beauties watch with curiosity as a boy maneuvers a large telescope, one eye closed. This is an oban-sized printing (during Hokusai’s lifetime) of what would have been initially a privately published extra-long surimono. The Honolulu Academy has this print in the same version; it is possible that all of the surimono editions of this design have been lost.

Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Minor creasing.
