Egoyomi, or calendar print. A beauty gently lifts a bucket from a primitive well. Nearby is a bench with two bonsai plants. On the tall-handled bucket is “jikkan hinoto mi”, for the year 1797. The print was designed the year before Hokusai gave the name “Sori” to his student, at the same time himself taking the name “Hokusai”. Provenence: Hayashi, Vever, Beres.
Condition: Very good impression, color and condition.
