Uncut uchiwa-e, or fan print of Lord Nakakuni playing the flute at Sagano Field by moonlight. He was dispached by the Emperor to bring back the court lady Kogô no Tsubone, who had been in exile at Sagano Field. The playing of the flute was Nakakuni’s way of breaking the news to Kogô. Extremely rare.
