A branch of silk tree, nemunoki, a kind of mimosa, beautifies the bank of the Ayase River. The view is from the west bank, looking across to the northeast at the point where the Ayase River flows into the Sumida. This stretch of the water on the curve flows rapidly and is deeper than most portions.A boatman poles his raft in the shallows and wears a garment that echoes the pattern of the blossoms. A heron rises into the sky.

The name Kanegafuchi, the bell depths derives from the legend of a temple bell that was washed into the river during a flood, sinking to the bottom.
