This is one of the Six Crystal Rivers. A young man pauses to watch the waterfall on Mt. Koya as he crosses a high bridge. He carries a cedar bucket with a bunch of plants. The poem reads: wasuretemo kumeyashitsuramu tabibito no Kôya no okuno Tamagawa no mizu. It means the traveller may forget everything; he may even forget to pay attention to take water from the Kôya Crystal River.
They are set in a fan or round format. Poems are set outside the picture. The poem on this picture is attributed to Kôbô Daishi and collected in “Fûga shû”. Kii Province is present Wakayama Prefecture.
