A white cat eyes the viewer from a seat of comfort against a black background. The black background is done in a way that shows the edge of the baren, which is unusual for this design. The blindprinting in the white fur is very deep and pronounced. When shown this print, Watanabe Shoichiro said that this example is “very early, maybe a test print”. As there is the 2-character seal for “gift” verso, there is no Watanabe seal, as usual with “gift”-sealed prints.
