Title: Chongsokjong, Kyongju (Keishu Sosekitei)
Series: Eight Views of Korea (Chosen Hakkei)

A red pavilion stands perched atop a greensward above dramatic vertical cliffs that plunge straight down to the crashing waves. The view from the pavilion must be breathtaking. The way that the seaspray has been depicted is quite unusual for Hasui; we can only imagine the challenge of portraying breaking water using woodblocks. This work is somewhat oversized.
