Our view is of layered rocky formations on the bank of the Arakawa River, whose western facets are tinged with pink from an unseen setting sun. This looks to be the boat launch at Iwadatami, as these rocks are recognizable even today. The Nagatoro Valley is 6 km long and has been designated a place of scenic beauty–Nagatoro is a tiny town set deep in the mountains of western Saitama. The water looks clear and calm, and the sky is tinged green and pink. First edition, with the round Watanabe seal of this postwar period in the lower left corner. Completely unfaded, with the subtle coloration that Hasui intended. A rather scarce design.
