Hasui 巴水: Tega Marsh 手賀沼 (First edition) (Sold)

Cotton-like clouds billow up in the distance, a storm perhaps approaching this serene landscape of bright green fields at the edge of a marsh in the heat of summer. A lone figure in a wooden boat seems to be fishing on its placid waters. Lake Tega (Tega-numa) is a narrow lake located in northwest Chiba Prefecture, north of Tokyo; its outflow is the Tone River, often shown in Japanese prints. Although its floodplain is buffered by fields somewhat, a great deal of development surrounds the lake today. With the earliest seal possible for this work, with the seal that was last used in 1930, lower right. 

Condition: Excellent impression; very good color and condition.
