A train chugs along in the middle distance, through golden fields of grain and towards a scenic village whose houses cluster to the right. Beyond the the plains rise gentle mountains that are tufted with scattered clouds. The influence of Hasui on the great animation master Hayao Miyazaki has been inferred by others, and with works like this we can see for ourselves that a design like this one has the exact atmosphere and feeling as a background design in one of his animated movies. First edition, with the appropriate Watanabe seal for 1947.
