Hasui 巴水: Autumn in Oirase 奥入瀬之秋 (Sold)
Artist: Kawase Hasui 巴水 (1883-1957)
Title: Autumn in Oirase 奥入瀬之秋
Series: Collection of Scenic Views of Japan , Eastern Japan Edition 日本風景集 東日本篇
Date: 1933
Mint first edition of this stunning fall scene of the Oirase Gorge, considered one of the most beautiful river valleys in Japan. Trees in full autumn color line the banks of the swiftly-flowing waterway that flows smoothly over boulders. Each October the autumn colors are at peak color, and Hasui sketched this design on 27 October, 1932. It seems to be a sunny, cloudless day and the trees in the background have muted colors as would appear in full sun at a distance. The gorge is a National Special Place of Scenic Beauty and a National Natural Monument and flows out of Lake Towada.
Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Mint. Never Framed.
