Hasui himself writes “This view is from the back of the shrine on Mount Atago. The shrine is set against the young green leaves of single-petalled cherry trees that have already shed their blossoms. In the foreground, a double-petalled cherry tree stands majestically. Its gracefully falling blossoms appear to resent the end of spring.” Very rare pre-earthquake design.
