Preparatory drawing showing a dramatic fight scene. This must be from a kabuki performance, given the outfits of the main two characters. A young hero at upper left brandishes a weapon in hs left hand. His right hand has been drawn in two positions; both possibilities also hold something. A second major characther subdues three men at once; two men are in a choke hold, their eyes popping and their faces mere grimaces. A third character is being held underfoot by a foot. Two other minor characters at right are rushing at the young hero at left.

Condition: Lightly mounted to backing sheet for safety.
