A courtesan is leisurely seated with a long pipe in her right hand. In front of her a sakura-dai, a bream which is caught during the time the cherry blossoms are blooming--it is placed on a big plate on a tray. The writing reads:”me no shita ni yoi midokorono sakura-dai,” meaning “directly in front of you, a bream looking at its best.” Another woman is depicted in the large kitchen, probably of a tea house. She is pouring a mirin sauce on jumping fish in a tarai wooden container.
