Set of uncut double chuban works, done when Yoshitoshi was only 21 years old. One of the artist’s earliest works. They show various scenes of the story of the 47 Ronin (Chushingura) as actor portraits. Compositionally they are competent but lack the unique elan of Yoshitoshi’s later works. Very rare.
