Urashima Tarô riding home an immortal tortoise from a visit to the Dragon King. We see the magical sea palace on the right, with the Dragon King next to his daughter Otohime and two attendants. His visit seemed to be three years, but when he returned to shore he found ot that 300 years had passed. The colors Yoshitoshi selected are muted, to match the poignancy of the moment. This is an excellent impression, with woodgrain in the sky and some mica in the waves.
