The enchanting courtesan Kurozome appears as the magical spirit of the cherry tree. She manifests in the Kabuki play “Tsumoru Koi no Seki no To” to thwart the evil plans of Lord Kuronushi to cut down an ancient cherry tree. This is one of the top three designs in the series, and is from an early edition. The obi is printed in pink instead of blue, and the white in all of her garments has embossed detailing.

Condition: Excellent impression and color. Very good condition. Some repairs upper right margin and ink smudges left side.
