The retainer Katô Kagekado has entered the Taira family mansion at the request of the leader of the Minamoto clan to kill Taira no Kanetaka. This famous story was told in the “Heike monogatari”. Kagekado dangles his helmet in front of the sliding door, casing Kanetaka to strike at it and lose his balance. Kagekado then easily despatched him and went to celebrate with Yoritomo Minamoto, the man who became shogun in 1185 after defeating the Taira clan.
