Yamato Warriors: Muramatsu Sandayu Takanao and Yanagihara Heiemon, from the story of the 47 Ronin (Chushingura). Almost comically explicit scene of one of the 47 Ronin (Muramatsu Takanao) ripping off a man’s face, while another man’s head lies on the ground. Spattered blood and soil have been applied by hand for realism.

Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Lead pigment in sky and as ash on ground.
