From an untitled erotic series, we see a samurai erotically engaging a young man dressed in feminine robes. As Inge Klompmakers writes in Japanese erotic prints: shunga by Harunobu & Koryûsai, “Homosexuality was a common phenomenon in Japan, especially in the cities, and the joy of homosexual love was a popular subject in the literary works of the time”. Homosexuality was known as nanshoku, or “male love”.

Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Center fold and minor surface soil.
