At the mouth of Genshin River which flows here into the Sumida River (at the very left) is the entrance to Mukô-jima. Here there are two bridges over the Genshin River connecting Koume and Kawaramachi. These bridges looked like pillows (makura), therefore they were called the Pillow Bridges. By the bridges there was Tea House Mukôjima Yaomatsu-rô, which was once painted by Ogura Ryûson. A beauty carrying a lantern on which it is written “Ogura” in red and on her umbrella, a Chinese character “kura (gura).” She passes a man in a straw cape.
