Prince Genji and a female companion visit a beautiful “Garden at Night” (Yoru no niwa) complete with Mini Fuji in the backgraound. She holds aloft a lantern, creating a magical effect. Hiroshige was responsible for the landscape, while Kunisada drew the figures, as each at this point were known as specialists. The night sky features an oxidizing lead pigment to make the night more dark and mysterious.
