Charles Bartlett and his wife  traveled to Benares, India, in 1914, before arriving Yokohama in 1915. In 1916 he produced a series of woodblock prints based on his sketches and paintings in collaboration with Watanabe ShôzaburIo, including 12 scenes of India and Ceylon. Bartlett himself said of this view “On the banks of the sacred Ganges men gather to talk of holy things.” Scarce.
