Meadow Buntings enjoy a dust bath beneath a blooming quince bush. Number 8 in Rakusan’s finest bird-and-flower series. The Japanese title may be translated “Quince Flowers and Meadow Buntings (Mid-Spring}.” {Boke no hana to hôjiro (sieshun)} The small, sparrow-like birds contort themselves as they roll in the dust, which is here shown as sprinkled white gofun. This is from the first edition, with gold accents in the sky and extra luxurious printing.
