The army engineer Onoguchi Tokuji unflinchingly setting off an explosion. The fireball seems to occur mere feet away from the soldier and to cause him no harm, but perhaps this is due to dramatic license. He is destroying the castle gate at Jinzhuocheng during the Sino-Japanese war.
