Toyohara Kuniteru : Actor Triptych Evening Scene of a Fight with a Black-clad Assassin

Title: Actor triptych from the play 魁駒松梅桜曙

Nakamura Shinkan, center, holds a ruffian in an arm lock, looking cool as a cucumber while doing so. He may be playing Sano Genzaemon. To the right, another Nakamura actor seems to have just flipped another bad guy onto his back, where he lies sprawling on the graound. To the left, a man wearing black robes leans into a crouching posture, his outfit enigmatic. Is he playing an assassin? To the left is Onoe Baiko in the role of Mutsura. The title of the play may be  魁駒松梅桜曙 (Ichiban Nori meiki no sashimono). The strong perspective on the background buildings is quite interesting.

Condition: Excellent color. Very good impression and condition. Unbacked.
