In a flower pot adonis plants, a symbol of New Year and an early spring, are in full bloom. The flower pot is decorated with characters such as ‘fuku,’ a good luck,’tomi,’ fortune. The fan above has design of ginko leaves and a poem is by Gin’nantei/Ichôtei Mitsukado. A poem on the fan below is written by Kuroko. Both poems refer to the New Year’s sunrise.
