Station 45 on the Kisokaido. We see the magician Kume falling from the sky after being so taken with the sight of the legs of a washerwoman that he loses his concentration and ability to fly through the air. He is dressed in Chinese clothes, which alludes to the Daoist practices that he mastered. According to the tale, they eventually marry and Kume makes his living thereafter as a horse trader.
