Arashi Rikaku II as the Fox Woman Kuzunoha, who holds a baby and writes a message on a screen with her teeth. Inset is Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Abe no Yasuna in the inset circle. Kuzunoha’s robe has a light layer of lead pigment which oxidizes to a deep grey.
