Charming portrait of a Siamese cat in profile. Saito was very good at capturing the essence of cats in simplified forms, so he must have been fond of them and studied them with care. Due to Saito’s mastery of design, although using only a few blocks and simplified forms, we can immediate recognize the unmistakable shape of what seems to be a kitten with a short tail and Siamese points coloring, perhaps a Mekong Bobtail.
