Title: The Three Types of Drinker
Series: Twelve States of Mind Resulting from Drinking 酒機嫌十二相之内 Sake kigen jūnisō no uchi
Date: 1888
Kiyochika, who knew his way around a sake flask, has gifted us a set of twelve states of mind that result from drinking.
The Three Types of Drinker. Some things never change, as we all know these three drinking moods too well: the angry guy, the sad guy, and the guy who finds everything funny. At top is a man clothed in western garb, which includes a bowler hat, white gloves and striped socks. He is clutching his stomach with laughter, and his mouth is opened in a too-large grin. One companion is making fists, face contorted and consumed with rage. The third man turns his back on the other two in a pose that suggests hurt feelings, tears on his face and mouth agape. A rather scarce series for some reason.
