Spring Snow at Torigoe Shrine, Asakusa. Haru no yuki, Asakusa Torigoe jinja. A woman and her daughter visit Torigoe Shrine in the evening, the light beneath its eaves emanating an inviting yellow glow. We see the footsteps in the freshly fallen snow, and see a dog following the two. A prewar edition, with the Watanabe seal used between 1931 and 1941. Scarce to find as a first edition, as here, with the Watanabe seal used in the 1930s, right margin, as most examples are postwar. The overall printing in the 1st edition is much superior to later editions.
